The GSP 1700 is Globalstar’s latest handheld. It’s smaller and lighter not only than Globalstar’s earlier satellite phone, but also significantly smaller and nearly two times lighter than both Iridium’s 9505a and Globalstar’s earlier satphone, the GSP-1600.

The Qualcomm GSP-1600 is a satellite phone intended for the Globalstar network.
The phone has been replaced by Globalstar with a newer model, the GSP-1700.
The GSP-1600 sat phone is tri-mode (allowing for satellite, CDMA and analog connections to be made).

The Telit SAT 600 is a dual mode (GSM 900 and satellite) Globalstar handheld phone. It is a smaller and lighter version of the Telit SAT 550. Newer Globalstar satellite phones include the GSP-1600 and GSP-1700.
