Indoor enabler |

satellite phone dictionary

An indoor enabler (docking station, docking unit) is a device that allows indoor usage of satellite phones. The phone is usually plugged into the enabler, which is attached to an external antenna. This is needed since satellite phones do not work normally indoors. A similar device is used in cars.

Thuraya docking units (indoor enablers) include the FDU-2500 and FDU-3500.
